A playoff mindset since May has helped the Longhorns get to Stanford super regional AUSTIN (KXAN) — As far as the Texas Longhorns baseball team in concerned, this weekend's Stanford super regional shouldn't be different from any of their games since May 1.Longhorns head coach David Pierce said the team's mentality since then has been to treat every weekend like a super regional with a spot in the Men's College World Series at stake. Texas, Stanford super regional to begin Saturday from Sunken Diamond "We started playing every weekend like win or go home," Pierce said.And so far, with the exception of the Big 12 Conference tournament, it has worked. New, family friendly train unveiled at Taconic State Park COPAKE FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A new train ride was unveiled at the Taconic State Park on Wednesday. The Pomeroy Family Railroad is the only operating railroad in New York State parks. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! The railroad is a 950-ft. loop around the park and will include two retrofitted ore carts for anyone of any age to ride. It was fully built by volunteers and is currently operated by them as well.The train ride replicates what it was like to be iron ore that was transported from a nearby mine to the blast furnace at Copake Iron Works.

Skeletal remains found in a vacant home in Lincoln County LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. - Lincoln County Sheriff's Office detectives investigated skeletal remains found in an abandoned home in Winfield Wednesday. Investigators said the person was found wearing several layers of clothing but said it is still early in the investigation."We found skeletal remains of a deceased person. At this time, we can't tell the sex or age of the individual," said Capt. David Hill for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. "It's probably going to require dental records."Hill said the challenge for investigators is trying to identify the remains."As it's gotten hotter, that speeds up the decomposition process," he said. LOUIS - Current and former employees of the St. Louis Kitchen gathered Wednesday in the parking lot where their boss was shot and killed on May 30. A cook was wounded in that shooting. Coroner responds to body found near Los Gatos Creek (KRON) -- A body was found near Los Gatos Creek in San Jose on Wednesday afternoon, the San Jose Police Department confirmed to KRON4. Teenager identified after fatal pedestrian collision in San Jose The call reporting the body came in just before 3 p.m. The coroner responded to the scene near Gregory Street. At this time, SJPD does not know the cause of death. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death will proceed after the body has been recovered by the coroner.
