Mild on Monday before storm moves in

Another mild day is in the forecast on Monday before a storm system move into New England Monday night. High temperatures Monday are expected to reach the upper 50s with some cooler conditions along the coastline. Late Monday afternoon, clouds will move into the area with showers arriving later into the evening. Some shower activity may mix with a little snow through the higher terrain of the Worcester Hills and into southern New Hampshire and Vermont. As the system starts to move out early Tuesday morning, some snow showers may even make it into the Boston area. However, ground temps are likely to be too warm to support accumulation, even on grass.

Friends and family members of a man who died in a collapse at the Boston Government Center Garage project marked the one-year anniversary of his death Sunday with the unveiling of a memorial bench in his honor.Peter Monsini, 51, was inside an excavator when the floor gave way, sending him falling 80 feet to the ground below. Now, a year, later, friends and family members gathered to unveil a bench the water facing DW Field Park in Brockton.

Stoughton police are investigating after a shot was fired near the Stoughton Fire Department on Saturday.Officers responding to a report of a person with a gun on Freeman Street around 2:30 p.m. found an individual on Capen Street but determined he did not have a weapon, according to police.Further investigation determined at least one shot was fired on Freeman Street near the Stoughton Fire Department. It is not believed that anyone was hit by the gunfire. Investigators find origin, not cause of Scituate blaze
