A pedestrian was killed in a crash with a Regional Transportation District train in the 600 block of Mariposa Street on Thursday night, according to the Denver Police Department.The male pedestrian, whose age was not immediately available, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Denver police.No injuries were reported by the train operator or customers aboard the train, RTD spokesperson Pauline Haberman said.HEADS UP: #DPD is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a light rail train in the 600 block of Mariposa. Stolen vehicle pursuit suspects taken into custody in downtown L.A.

Two stolen vehicle suspects were taken into custody after a nearly hour-long pursuit with L.A. police and the California Highway Patrol on Thursday night.  Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department initiated the pursuit sometime around 6 p.m. as the suspects were traveling on the eastbound 60 Freeway from Lorena Street.  LAPD pulled out of the chase while the suspects, who were being tracked from the air, were seen blacking out the vehicle’s headlights, traveling at a high rate of speed in moderate-to-heavy traffic and using the shoulder of the road to pass vehicles on several different SoCal freeways.  CHP ground units caught up to the vehicle in the area of El Monte, though the driver refused to pull over and eventually wound their way downtown.  When the highway patrol pulled back onto surface streets, the two suspects, along with a dog, got out of the truck near Olympic and Central and fled on foot.  The driver was quickly tackled and taken into custody as a...

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- An outdoor COVID-19 testing operator will cease all virus testing operations in San Francisco after the city took enforcement actions.For months, Gentech operated out of its characteristic green tents advertising COVID-19, flu, and RSV tests. "In addition to a lack of personal protective equipment and compliance with sanitation requirements, Gentech paid members of the public $5 in cash for every test taken," the City Attorney's Office wrote.Many of the tents popped up and operated near open-air drug markets. Cash payments appeared to facilitate illicit drug sales and activity, according to city officials.San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott described the green COVID testing sites as "highly questionable." DENVER (KDVR) — Wheat Ridge Police officers made an arrest after tracking down a stolen U-Haul.On Wednesday, a Wheat Ridge officer spotted a U-Haul that seemed out of place. Turns out it had been reported stolen that same morning. The truck was tracked into Denver and an arrest was made on the spot. Boston College let a winnable game against a bad team slip away on Thursday night in Pittsburgh.The Pitt Panthers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 24-16 victory over BC at Acrisure Stadium. SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Padres confirmed that one of Peter Seidler's long-time business partners will be taking over as the team's interim point person for Major League Baseball after the chairman's passing earlier this week.Eric Kutsenda, a co-founder and managing partner at Seidler's private equity firm, was appointed as the team's interim control person, as required by Major League Baseball.However, it is unclear how long he will serve in that capacity. An Islamic community centre in Vaughan was evacuated due to what police called a potential threat.York Regional Police said they responded to the community centre near Bathurst Street and Ner Israel Drive on Thursday night.The building was evacuated, and officers conducted a search of the area.
