Ken MacDermotRoe, Host
A graduate of Princeton (BA, History) and Columbia Law School (JD), Ken was a litigator for a large Wall Street law firm and, subsequently, served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York. He, also, served as a Captain in the U. S. Army Reserve, JAG Corps.
Ken created and hosts the radio series History Counts where he explores important historical events that are often overlooked or misunderstood. In creating the live call-in show “In Context” with Gus Cantavero, Ken seeks to bring Americans of all political persuasions into a discussion of how we together can best advance the interests of our country and preserve our freedoms.
Ken identifies with the democratic tradition of Thomas Jefferson and John F. Kennedy, but he also admires Republicans like Abraham Lincoln who championed American economic independence and Dwight Eisenhower who warned against the military industrial complex.
Ken is married and has three children. Raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, he now lives with his family in Connecticut. He likes to spend time with his family and ride horses.
Gus Cantavero, Host
A multimedia artist and avid student of history. Gus worked behind the scenes on History Counts for several years before becoming the co-host for In Context. He believes it’s time to step back and take a new look at the canvas of history in order to see our current state of affairs with another perspective. A believer in libertarian principles, common sense, responsibility and self reliance who is never one to shy from controversy. He’s looking to bring his concern for our world and fellow man into the public debate. By doing this he hopes to show those that don’t share his concern that expanding our knowledge of the world will benefit everyone.
Marchand MacDermotRoe, Military Affairs Commentator
Marchand, In Context’s military affairs commentator, created the program’s monthly War Report, a detailed round up and analysis of recent global military and geo-political developments – a feature we believe is unique to In Context. In his analysis of global affairs, Marchand draws on his experience of having lived in both the Middle East and Asia, as well as, his growing personal contacts around the world. Marchand, also, has a special interest in reporting on the conditions and concerns of our men and women in uniform.
