Three stranded hikers rescued in Essex County

NORTH ELBA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Three hikers who were left stuck behind high water at Indian Falls in Essex County were rescued on Saturday. The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) says eight forest rangers responded to rescue the group. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! According to the DEC, Forest Rangers received a call around 4 p.m. that three hikers from Pennsylvania were stranded behind high water at Indian Falls. The DEC says the hikers were descending Street Mountain when they came across the water. Rangers used an inflatable boat to pull the hikers to safety. From there, Forest Rangers helped assist them to their cars. All resources were cleared at 6:18 p.m.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. - A peculiar pet roaming around Jefferson County has caused growing concern among Missouri officials and residents. It was the spotting of a four-point buck in Jefferson County that prompted recent concerns. The peculiar paint spelling out "pet" and the collar around his neck were not usual. Recycling grant pays for new playground at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School

LOUIS - A new playground floor has students at a south St. Louis school jumping for joy.         It's at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School.A grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation helped pay for the new playground surfacing. It's also being used as a lesson in recycling for the kids. The playground was made with 25,000 pounds of used recycled tires.
