With a little more than three minutes left in the third quarter, the Bulls trailed by one.But in a matter of minutes, calamity struck. Nikola Vučević sacrificed two points via technical free throws earned by talking back to the referees. A handful of jumpers later and the Thunder suddenly led by nine. The quarter ended, giving the Bulls time to compose themselves. Instead they allowed the Thunder to sink three consecutive 3-pointers to open the final quarter, sinking into the sludge of a 16-point deficit they couldn’t overcome.Fans exited early from the season opener as the Bulls lost 124-104.Here are six takeaways from the game.1. A Plymouth Superior Court judge has found Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury mother accused of strangling her three children to death earlier this year, “at imminent risk for self-harm” and ordered her held without bail and committed to psychiatric care at Tewksbury Hospital for a six-month period.“It is my opinion that she does require ongoing psychiatric hospitalization,” Dr. Karin Towers, a forensic psychiatrist retained by the court, testified during Clancy’s Superior Court arraignment Thursday morning. Towers said she had examined Clancy earlier that morning and found the defendant presented with a flat affect and reported “unbearable depression and trouble getting through each day,” feelings of worthlessness and regular suicidal ideation.Judge William F. Sullivan was convinced and ordered Clancy held without bail and committed to Tewksbury Hospital for an extended six-month stay without the need for monthly evaluations. FOXBORO — It’s usually frowned upon to walk up to someone and ask, “Hey, did you gain weight?”It’s not always a bad thing when addressing an offensive lineman, though. And for Patriots left guard Cole Strange, weight was an issue for the 2022 first-round pick as a rookie. But Strange looked bigger in his return to the field in Week 7 from a knee injury, and it coincided with the Patriots’ best offensive line performance by far this season in Sunday’s win over the Bills.Related ArticlesNew England Patriots | Source: Patriots signing former 1st-round WR to active roster New England Patriots | Callahan: The Patriots can’t take Demario Douglas off the field anymore New England Patriots | Patriots-Dolphins injury report: Tyreek Hill sits out Wednesday, Bill Belichick lists 12 injured New England Patriots | Source: Patriots re-signing Malik Cunningham to practice squad New England Patriots | Celtic...Otis’ stunning turn to monster Pacific hurricane kills at least 27 in Acapulco

By MARK STEVENSON (Associated Press)ACAPULCO, Mexico (AP) — Otis’ stunning transformation into a monster hurricane killed at least 27 people as it devastated Acapulco, officials said Thursday.President Andrés Manuel López Obrador went by road after the hurricane hit the iconic city on Mexico’s Pacific coast, where at least four people remained missing. He said Otis had toppled every power-line pole in the zone where it hit on Wednesday, leaving much of the city of 1 million without electricity.Otis turned from mild to monster in record time, and scientists are struggling to figure out how — and why they didn’t see it coming. With tens of thousands of residents in damaged homes without power, the toll could rise.“The people sheltered, protected themselves and that’s why fortunately there weren’t more tragedies, loss of human life,” López Obrador said.Acapulco’s municipal water system was down and López Obrador, who made it into Acapulco late Wednesday with many of h...Arrest warrant issued for Robert Card, suspect in Maine mass shooting as manhunt continues

WINNIPEG — Manitoba’s recently elected premier is set to meet with the families of two slain First Nations women whose remains are believed to be in a Winnipeg-area landfill. Wab Kinew is expected to meet with the families of Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran in what he calls a first step in resetting the relationship between the families and the provincial government. Before forming government last week, Kinew said a New Democrat government would search the Prairie Green Landfill for the women’s remains but stopped short of providing a funding commitment. Former premier Heather Stefanson and the previous Progressive Conservative government opposed a search of the landfill, citing safety concerns, and highlighted their refusal during the provincial election campaign.
