That's what was at stake between the Shaker and Colonie girls lacrosse teams on Thursday in the Section 2 Class A semifinals. ST. LOUIS - Gabriel “Gabe” Gore was officially named the newest St. Louis Circuit Attorney on Friday. He was appointed by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson following the abrupt departure of Kim Gardner earlier this week. Gore brings more than 23 years of experience in private law practice to the table. He has served with the Dowd Bennet law firm since 2010, and the organization describes him as an “experienced trial lawyer who concentrates on complex civil litigation and white collar defense.”Before his work at Dowd Bennet, Gore also served as a member of the Office of Special Counsel John C. Danforth’s Waco Investigation from 1999 to 2000. He also has experience as an assistant U.S. Attorney, where he tried federal prosecutions through a drug task force. Gore has also served as a clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals. A Calabasas woman is spreading the word about theft by Amazon drivers after one was apparently caught in the act by a security camera.Adrienne Bloom said her Ring camera captured the unidentified man grabbing "a very large check" made out to a subcontractor and jogging back to his van before driving away Tuesday afternoon.The man was ultimately captured by law enforcement, Bloom said, and "luckily he still had the check under his seat."Sgt. Brittney Griner got a chance to shake off some rust last week when she played a preseason WNBA game for the first time since she was detained in Russia on drug-related charges.That's all over now. She plays for real Friday night.Griner and the Phoenix Mercury visit the Los Angeles Sparks as part of a four-game slate on the first day of the WNBA season. The 32-year-old center scored 10 points in 17 minutes in a home exhibition loss against Los Angeles last week.Griner was arrested at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in February 2022 after Russian authorities said a search of her luggage revealed vape cartridges containing cannabis oil. Fatal Motocycle Crash near Badura Avenue Left Adrese Quassani, Melina Quassani, and Dylan Quassani InjuredLAS VEGAS, NV (May 19, 2023) – Friday evening, a motorcycle collision on South Buffalo Drive claimed the life of Sonny Trushel.The incident occurred on April 21st, at around 9:30 pm., at the intersection of South Buffalo Drive and Badura Avenue.According to reports, the rider was speeding along the road in a 2007 Honda CBR when it collided with the right front section of a 2023 Toyota Camry making a left turn onto westbound Badura.Responding paramedics pronounced the rider, 18-year-old Sonny Trushel of Las Vegas, dead at the scene.Meanwhile, Adrese Quassani, 56 the driver of the Toyota, and the passengers Melina Quassani, 51, and Dylan Quassani, 22, received treatments of their minor wounds at a local hospital.At this time, police ruled out impairment for the Toyota driver and are investigating into the fatal crash. 23-Year-Old Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after DUI Accident near Val Vista DriveGILBERT, AZ (May 19, 2023) – Monday afternoon, Christopher Bartlett was killed in a motorcycle collision on Williams Field Road.Authorities responded to the scene around 1:30 p.m., near Val Vista Drive on May 15th.Per reports, 49-year-old Lucinda Begay attempted to make a left turn and collided with Bartless who was riding a motorcycle.Paramedics arrived and transported 23-year-old Bartlett to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.Following preliminary duties, officers determined that Begay was under the influence. FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — American Airlines has reached a tentative labor agreement with pilots who recently raised the possibility of a strike against the nation’s biggest airline if they were unable to get a new contract with higher pay.American said Friday that the four-year deal, if ratified by pilots, would give them pay and profit-sharing “that match the top of the industry.”Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.Earlier this year, Delta Air Lines pilots ratified a contract that will boost their pay 34% over four years, but American pilots said they needed more to catch up with Delta, which has a richer profit-sharing program.American CEO Robert Isom said in March that the airline was ready to give pilots 40% more in pay and retirement contributions.
