Editor's Note: The above video shows how you can help prevent wildfires.AUSTIN (KXAN) — More than 2,300 acres have burned in wildfires across Central Texas so far this year, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.A total of 26 fires have burned 2,373 acres in the 15-county KXAN viewing area, as of Aug. 8. How far behind normal are rainfall totals this year? KXAN is keeping track of wildfires this year. Follow along with the map and database below. We'll keep them updated as new information becomes available. Fires that are still uncontained are red on the map.The table below ranks all the fires in our area this year from largest to smallest. ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- A temporary restraining order has blocked the state from issuing anymore recreational dispensary licenses. This following a lawsuit by a group of New York military vets claiming OCMs procedures for those interested in a retail license precluded themselves and others from applying. Recreational cannabis licenses put on hold in parts of NY Specifically, lawsuit is challenging the Conditional Adult Use Cannabis Retail Dispensary application program. This allowed those who had a marijuana related conviction and had experience owning and operating a business in New York, get first dibs at opening a dispensary. GREENWICH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Greenwich man was arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with a female under the age of 17. Matthew A. Moses, 34, is facing charges of rape in the third degree, forcible touching, and endangering the welfare of a child. Moses was arraigned at the Washington County CAP Court and remanded on bail. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A woman accused of firing a shot at Hollywood Casino over the weekend reportedly claimed it happened as a "celebration of life." Prosecutors have charged Razara Kelly, 20, with one count of unlawful use of a weapon by shooting at a building in the investigation. 5-year-old girl shot and killed in Belleville, Illinois According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, Kelly pulled her car into the main roundabout area in front of the Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights, got out of the car holding a pistol and fired one shot at the building. Two wildfires were expanding and had burned across more than 700 acres of dry U.S. National Forest and wilderness terrain Tuesday morning in southwestern Colorado, north of Pagosa Springs.Firefighters with air support were planning to suppress both fires, federal officials said.The 560-acre Quartz Ridge fire was burning inside the South San Juan Wilderness, according to data on a federal fire information website.It was discovered on Aug. 5 and was expected to stay in “a very remote location” in the wilderness. Thousands of city workers in Los Angeles are taking part in a one-day strike Tuesday to bring attention to what they describe as unfair labor practices and the city's failure to bargain in good faith.More than 11,000 city workers for SEIU Local 721, including sanitation workers, heavy-duty mechanics, engineers, gardeners, custodians, lifeguards and many others, are expected to take part in the strike.The picket lines were already in full force by 5 a.m. in front of City Hall on Spring Street. Two electric vehicles were destroyed when they caught fire outside a La Habra home Tuesday morning.The fire was reported just before 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 2500 block of Greenbrier Lane.
