Daly City man sentenced to 24 years in prison for molesting stepdaughter DALY CITY – A 54-year-old Daly City man has been sentenced to 24 years in state prison for molesting his pre-teen stepdaughter over a period of nearly two years, prosecutors said.David Cancel Sr. previously pleaded no contest to one felony count of continuous sexual abuse of a child and four felony counts of lewd or lascivious acts against a child under the age of 14, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.As part of the agreement, Cancel must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.Cancel, who was sentenced Friday morning, was given 1,367 days, or more than three and a half years, worth of credit for time served, prosecutors said.
