Patrick Mahomes offered no excuses for his poor performance in Kansas City’s 24-9 loss to the Broncos on Sunday. The Chiefs’ star quarterback didn’t blame the flu-like illness that socked him in the gut Saturday night, nor the frigid weather at Empower Field at Mile High.Nope, he pointed his finger at the Chiefs’ lack of execution and credited a Broncos defense that limited him to a 59.2 passer rating, the second-worst in his 87 NFL starts. He had a 57.3 rating in 2021, also against the Broncos.“The Broncos did a great job of making us be patient and they had a great game plan, and we didn’t execute well enough to score any (touchdowns),” said Mahomes, who not only lost to the Broncos for the first time in his career but also suffered his first road loss against an AFC West team.Mahomes completed 24 of 38 passes for 241 yards with two interceptions and was sacked three times. SEATTLE (AP) — P.J. Walker had a chance to put away a second straight road victory for the Browns. A completed pass would have given Cleveland a new set of downs with less than two minutes remaining. When Walker’s pass deflected off the helmet of blitzing Seattle safety Jamal Adams, the Cleveland quarterback knew it was trouble.“The moment it got tipped in the air, I felt the bad feeling that it was going to be a pick or something like that,” Walker said. The deflected interception was Walker’s third turnover of the Browns’ 24-20 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday. Making his second start of the season with Deshaun Watson sidelined by a shoulder injury, Walker’s performance was filled with some big plays and big misses that added up to a frustrating result for the Browns. After coming off the bench early and leading a late touchdown drive in a win at Indianapolis last week, Walker was stuck watching Geno Smith march Seattle down the field for a winning touchdown pass to Jaxon Smith-N...Latest news
